How To: The Cate Eye

You'll be winged and ready for day or night in a few simple steps:

Step 1:

Begin at the center of the top lash line with a swipe of Gel Eyeliner on the tip of a small eyeliner brush. Without applying too much pressure, trace the lash line from the center of the eye toward the outside corner, eventually ending in a straight line even with the middle of your eye height. 

Step 2:

 Return to the middle of the top lash line (you may need to re-dip your brush) and trace a line from the center inward toward the inside corner of your eye. This should complete one long, connected line across the entire top lash line. Connect the end of the top line to the outside corner of the eye to form the outline of your Cate Eye wing.

Step 3:

Fill in where needed or desired. You can thicken the top line by adding another layer of eyeliner. Be sure to fill in your wing to give the eye a bit of subtle drama.

Step 4:

Heading out? Or feeling dramatic? Line the bottom lash line (use the gel eyeliner that's still on your brush), starting from the middle of the eye and continuing outward. Using a pencil liner, line the inside rim of the eye for added contrast. 

Finish with Mascara:

The look is not complete without lashes. Coat your lashes in Volumizing Mascara for a big, beautiful eye effect.
